What QCAA requires

  • From 2026, completing an academic integrity course is a requirement for the QCE. It covers how to represent content created with AI.
  • Schools teach students to use AI responsibly and align their assessment policy with QCAA's guidance on AI.
  • Schools communicate the consequences of academic misconduct with explicit reference to the use of AI.

Queensland state schools

  • The department provides Corella, its own AI tool, for school leaders and teachers.
  • Student use of department AI tools in Years 7 to 10 is at the principal's discretion and needs parent consent.

Catholic and independent schools set their own requirements, and the template marks this clause for them to replace.
